Nucave Construction: A 100-Page Custom Website Built to Sell ADUs
An established San Diego County ADU and custom home builder replaced an outdated website with a custom-coded, roughly 100-page Next.js site: an interactive ADU cost planner, free homeowner lookup tools, city-by-city regulation guides, and an SEO migration engineered to protect years of Google rankings.

The challenge
Nucave Construction has been building across San Diego County since 2016 - CSLB licensed, with 100+ projects delivered. The projects, photos, and story were all there on their old website - but the aging build was hard to update and sold the work short, and it gave homeowners no way to explore what an ADU project would actually involve or cost.
An ADU is one of the biggest purchases a homeowner ever makes. Buyers research for months - costs, regulations, feasibility, financing - before they ever call a builder. The old site couldn't answer the biggest of those questions, what a project would cost and whether a property was even a fit, so that research happened on other people's websites.
There was also a real risk to manage: the old site had rankings Google took years to assign. Replace a website carelessly and those rankings vanish. The migration had to be engineered as carefully as the new build itself.
What we did
Built a fully custom-coded Next.js website, roughly 100 pages, hosted on Vercel - designed page by page around how homeowners actually research an ADU project.
Created an interactive ADU Cost Planner: a 5-step tool powered by real pricing formulas from Nucave's own project data. Homeowners get an instant estimate range and a project readiness score; Nucave gets the lead the moment an email is entered - address-verified and delivered even if the visitor never finishes the final steps.
Added a free Property Records Toolkit - a sewer lateral lookup and a CAL FIRE fire zone lookup - so the site answers questions homeowners can't easily answer anywhere else.
Wrote 7 city-by-city ADU regulation guides in plain English, turning county-level legal complexity into pages a homeowner can actually use - and search engines can rank.
Rebuilt 8 project pages with organized photo galleries (finished photos first, build progress last) and native job-site video, with video placed across the service pages.
Wired branded lead emails with lead grading: every inquiry arrives in the client's inbox pre-filled like an intake sheet, so follow-up calls start informed.
Migrated the blog preserving the owner's voice, plus floor plans, testimonials, and financing pages - nothing the old site did well was lost.
Engineered the SEO migration: kept the exact www host Google had ranked for years, built a 301-redirect map for every moved URL, flipped indexing on at launch, submitted the sitemap the same hour, and preserved GA4 continuity with the old property.
The results
The site launched August 30, 2026 at nucave.com. PageSpeed Insights after launch: 87 performance on mobile, 96 accessibility, 100 best practices, and 100 SEO - verified in the screenshot below.
The entire build was delivered by a small team working directly with the owner - no account managers, no handoffs, and nothing lost between feedback and fixes.
The engagement continues as a monthly SEO retainer: new content, expanding the city guide series, and rank tracking to verify the migration held. The SEO campaign's results will get a case study of their own once enough post-launch data is in.
