Google Ads for Manufacturers

A manufactured product is a considered purchase. Whether you build food trucks, trailers, cabinets, signs or industrial equipment, the buyer researches for weeks, compares builders across the state, asks about lead times and financing, and only a fraction of the people searching are ready to order. The same words also mean several things on Google: a product to buy, one to rent, one to repair, a job at your plant. Google Ads for manufacturers is about reaching the buyer and paying for none of the others.

We have run this for a San Diego manufacturer since 2021. SD Food Truck Pros builds food trucks and trailers, and from Nov 4, 2021 to Sep 14, 2026 its Google Ads account recorded 3.97K conversions, including 1,592 quote requests and 950 phone call leads, on campaigns built around custom builds, for-sale terms and financing searches. The reports are on the SD Food Truck Pros case study with the cost figures covered. GreenFlow is a current Google Partner. If you build to order and want that kind of lead flow, start with a free Google Ads audit.

How we run it

What changes for manufacturers

  • Statewide and nationwide targeting

Buyers will drive or ship for the right builder, so a single city radius leaves most of them out. We target the state first, then the regions beyond it that produce quotes, and write ads that say where you build and that you deliver. Location is a filter for buyers, not a limit on them.

  • The quote request is the conversion

A quote form is a buyer describing the product they want, which is why it is the number the account is optimized toward. We wire the quote form and phone calls as separate conversions, keep contact forms and direction requests as secondary, and move budget to the campaigns producing quotes, not the ones producing clicks.

  • Financing, lead time and for-sale searches

Searches with financing, for sale, custom or lead time in them carry the clearest buying intent in manufacturing. They get their own ad groups, ads that answer the question in the headline, and a landing page with the financing details and the portfolio, so the buyer does not have to hunt for either one.

  • Negatives for rentals, repairs and job seekers

Rent, repair, parts, jobs and near me searches all match your keywords and none of them place an order. We launch with a large negative list and mine the search terms report every month, so the budget stays on people who want to buy what you build.

What we are seeing in Google Ads this month

Updated

  • Google changes how and when Local Services Ads charge for call leads on October 1, 2026. If you run LSAs, review your lead disputes before the switch.
  • Mr. Birria's Google Ads account passed 77.3K conversions for the period Apr 14, 2021 to Sep 14, 2026. Local campaigns and catering lead forms carry most of it.
  • Belcrete's contractor campaign converted 11.40% of clicks from Mar 21 to Jun 18, 2026, on job-value keywords with a tight negative list. Fewer clicks, better jobs.

FAQ

Google Ads for manufacturers: questions we get

How much should a manufacturer spend on Google Ads?

Our Google Ads management starts at $700 a month, month to month, with no setup fees, and ad spend is paid to Google separately. Most of our clients start between $1,000 and $3,000 per month in ad spend. For a high-ticket product that range buys enough clicks to learn which searches turn into quotes before you scale. We give you a firm number after the audit, and the budget guide explains the math.

Should I target the whole country?

Start with your state and the neighboring ones, then expand where the quotes come from. National reach costs more each month and brings more mixed intent, so we grow into it with the search-term data rather than launching there on day one. Our manufacturing client is a San Diego shop that sells across California, and the quote requests show buyers shopping well beyond the city.

How long is the sales cycle, and how do ads fit it?

Weeks to months. A buyer who requests a quote today may sign next season, so ads have to feed a follow-up process, not replace one. We track the quote as the conversion, show remarketing ads to people who visited the portfolio or financing pages, and recommend a simple follow-up cadence so a month-two prospect does not quietly buy from another builder. The ads bring the inquiry; the follow-up closes it.

Does this work for custom and built-to-order products?

Yes. The structure is the same for trailers, carts, cabinets, signage, equipment and any other built-to-order product: campaigns by product type, for-sale and financing keywords, negatives against rentals, repairs and jobs, and the quote form as the conversion. Our client builds both trucks and trailers, and trailers for sale is one of the keyword themes the account is built around. See our manufacturers page for the wider picture.

Can you show real results from a manufacturer?

Yes. The SD Food Truck Pros case study shows the Google Ads account overview and the conversions summary for Nov 4, 2021 to Sep 14, 2026: 3.97K conversions, 1,592 quote requests, 950 phone call leads. Both are real screenshots with the cost figures covered. The case study also links to live Google searches where the client ranks on page one, so you can check for yourself.

What is the first step?

Request the free Google Ads audit. We review your account or your market, check whether quote requests are tracked, look at the search terms you are paying for, and send back a plan. There is no obligation. If we work together it is month to month with no setup fees, and you deal directly with the people running the account, not an account manager. You can also book a call.
