Overview
How Google Ads works for roofers
Roofing clicks are not cheap, and a lot of the people typing "roof" into Google are not about to hire a roofer. Some want to patch a leak themselves. Some are pricing shingles. Some are looking for roofing jobs. Roofing PPC pays off when the budget goes to the searches that mean a job, roof repair, leak repair, roof replacement and new roof estimates in the area you serve, and every other click is blocked before it spends.
Google Ads for roofers rests on three campaign types: Search for people looking right now, Performance Max across Google's other placements, and Local Services Ads at the very top of the page, because roofing is one of the trades that qualifies. Under all three sits conversion tracking that counts calls and estimate forms. We do not have a roofing case study to publish yet, so we will not pretend to. The closest real account is a concrete contractor in Palm Springs run on the same estimate-driven setup: 48+ estimate requests at an 11.40% conversion rate, with the report on the Belcrete case study. Greenflow is a current Google Partner. To see what the setup would look like for your roofing company, book a free strategy call.

How we run it
What changes for roofers
Repair and replacement, kept apart
A leak repair and a full replacement are different jobs with different values, and people search for them differently. When the budget supports it, each gets its own campaign, budget and ads. When it does not, they share one campaign with separate ad groups, so the message stays specific without starving Google's bidding of conversions.
Negatives for DIY, supplies and job seekers
Searches like how to fix a roof leak, roof sealant, shingles for sale, roofing calculator and roofing jobs all match roofing keywords, and none of them books an inspection. We block them before launch and read the search terms report every week for the new variations.
Local Services Ads next to Search
Roofing qualifies for Local Services Ads, which sit above the regular ads, charge per lead instead of per click and carry the Google Guaranteed badge. We run them alongside Search, not after it: Local Services Ads takes the broad roofer searches, and Search covers the specific jobs you choose, like a flat roof or a tile roof replacement.
Calls counted, button taps not
Most roofing leads phone. A call counts as a lead only when it lasts long enough to be a real conversation, and estimate forms are tracked the same way. Taps on a call button and direction requests are not leads, so they never steer the budget.
What we are seeing in Google Ads this month
Updated
- Google changes how and when Local Services Ads charge for call leads on October 1, 2026. If you run LSAs, review your lead disputes before the switch.
- Mr. Birria's Google Ads have brought 10,800+ store visits and 1,500+ phone leads. Local campaigns and catering lead forms do most of the work.
- Belcrete's contractor campaign turned 11.40% of clicks into estimate requests, on job-value keywords with a tight negative list. Fewer clicks, better jobs.

FAQ
Google Ads for roofers: questions we get
How much does Google Ads cost for a roofing company?
Our Google Ads management starts at $750 a month, month to month, with no setup fees. Ad spend is separate and paid to Google from your own billing; we size it to your area, your crew and your click costs on the free strategy call. Every plan is on the pricing page.
Should roofers run Local Services Ads or Google Search ads?
Both. Roofing qualifies for Local Services Ads, which sit at the very top of the page, charge per lead and carry the Google Guaranteed badge. Search ads let you choose the exact jobs and keywords you pay for and the page each click lands on. Local Services Ads management is included in our Google Ads Growth plan, $1,200 a month, alongside Search and Performance Max, so there is no separate LSA fee. Our LSA cost guide explains how the per-lead pricing works.
Should I split my roofing campaigns by service or by area?
By service, once the budget can carry it, and almost never by area. A campaign needs roughly 30 conversions a month for Google's bidding to learn, so a smaller account keeps repair and replacement in one campaign with separate ad groups. One campaign can cover your whole service area; we never split an account by zip code or neighborhood, because that only fragments the budget and the data.
Where should a roofing ad send the click?
To a page about the job they searched: a roof repair search lands on a roof repair page with a short estimate form, a click-to-call number and your reviews. A page for each service beats a one-page site. If your site is still one page, we keep Google's final URL expansion off so Performance Max cannot send people somewhere you did not choose.
Do you have results from a roofing client?
Not yet, and we will not invent them. The closest real account we can show is Belcrete Concrete, a contractor on the same estimate-driven setup: 48+ estimate requests at an 11.40% conversion rate, from a real screenshot of the client's Google Ads account with only the cost figures covered. When we have a roofing account we can publish, the report will go here.
